1. Your Customers Will Thank You For It

Unless you’ve been in hiding you know that smartphones are on the rise.  Just look at the television.  Smartphone after smartphone after smart phone.  Apple, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phones… You just can’t escape it.  While most people dislike change, we as business owners need to be on the forefront of change to stay ahead of our competition and look out for new trends that eventually become the norm.

2. Your customers are on their phones a RIDUCULOUS amount of time

It is expected that by 2014 there will be more mobile devices in the world altogether than there will be Personal Computers.  Now if that doesn’t make you scratch your head, I don’t know what will.  People take their smartphones everywhere and use them everywhere, on the go, in the office heck… even in the bathroom!

People consume content wherever they go, don’t you want your business to be a part of that?

3. Email Marketing isn’t what it used to be

People these days have so many email addresses and have subscribed to so many newsletters that the amount of mail they get is just ridiculous.  So not only do you have to compete with all the other emails going into their inbox, you never really know if you’re even making their inbox in the first place.

Having a mobile app enables you to reach your customers on a whole new level, and in a way that they do not yet suffer from “ad blindness” where they block out commercial communications.

4. Setting yourself apart from your competitors

It’s likely that most of your competitors do not yet have a mobile app.  Do you think it’s a good idea to be the last one to do get one for your business?  Of course not.  Having your own mobile app is a way to separate your business from other businesses that sell the products and/or services that businesses like yours sell.  Don’t wait to jump on the bandwagon.  Set your business up to succeed and pave the way and leave your competitors in the dust.

5. Having your own Mobile App will make your brand unique

Even if your app is a rebranded version of another app, your brand on top of that same functionality offers value to your customers that have downloaded and installed it and it brands YOUR business.  The bottom line is whether you want a super complex app or something simple, your business needs an app.  When someone downloads your app, they are making it a part of their lives and become a part of their lives.

There are so many more reasons why your company needs an app, but this should be enough to get your wheels turning.
